Snake Eyes is actually based on a real poker player named Greg Raymer. I remember when I was a kid watching ESPN late at night, they would randomly air events like bowling, cornhole and The World Series of Poker. During the World Series of Poker, I remember seeing this "weird" guy wearing lizard sunglasses. Something about those shades really stuck with me, because all these years later, I still remember seeing him on TV,  in magazine ads promoting poker games online, and other poker related products.
